C & H masonry combines traditional techniques and modern masonry practices depending on the project. Through this we are able to achieve a high quality finish at a competitive price. One recently completed project involved restoring an eighteenth century farmhouse in central France, and more recently we were responsible for all the stonework on a new build in Bristol. We can produce anything from stone arches to intricate pinnacles. This versatility makes us Bristol’s premiere stone masonry company and are always interested in new projects, both contemporary and historic, especially those that involve traditional finishes.

Stone Cross – This intricate piece involved challenging elements of stone carving and masonry. The piercing of the stone required great skill and craftsmanship. The results are a spectacular piece of stonework.

Granite steps- These steps were designed as an interlocking half arch that replicated the original but badly worn cement steps.

Granite arch- The original lintel had cracked and we replaced it with a much larger one however we were able to reuse all of the original lintel in making an arched window that gave light to the barn. Other stones were sourced locally and worked in a traditional way which has added character to this barn restoration.

Doorway head- Reusing what few stones were left we were able to restore this traditional doorway.

Stone crosses-  These traditional stone crosses were replacements for the originals that had been blown down from a couple of church’s in Worcestershire in a forest of Dean sandstone, and in Limestone respectively.

New build stonework-  We were responsible for the supply and fix of the stonework for this new build  house in Bristol in the same style as the rest of the street.
